Family Sunday this coming Sunday

Hey there!!!

It looked like so much fun yesterday in Children’s Church! I was in the Sanctuary helping out with the service- but I came in and out so I could see the fun! That makes me think…loving Jesus is fun! That is so cool to think about for sure.

What did you guys learn about Safety, Skateboards and the 10 Commandments yesterday? It’s important to follow rules and wear the safety gear isn’t it? You know, our safety gear for walking with Jesus is found in the Bible- It’s called the armor of God. In Ephesians 6: 10-18, Paul tells us about the different parts of Roman armor and how we can wear them in our walk with God! “The apostle Paul’s description of a Roman soldier’s armor show how familiar Paul was with Roman soldiers and what they wore. Each part of the soldier’s armor was important for his defense against the weapons of his enemy(Adventure Bible 1301).” Here are the verses from the Bible-

“Finally , be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devils’ schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore- put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit– which is the Word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.”

Wow!!! Just like the skateboarder in our story- we need to be ready- know the rules of operation (the 10 commandments), and put on our safety equipment ( the armor of God)! If we do – our walk with the Lord will be amazing!!!!

Please remember that this coming Sunday is Family Sunday- no Children’s Church at the 11:00 hour- there is our 10 o’clock class and nursery is available.

See you Sunday and remember…

Jesus loves you and so do I!
