We all know the story of the 3 Amigos.  Maybe not the ones you are thinking of - Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.  The three chosen youths by God.  You can find their story in the book of Daniel.  They followed God's law and as some might say - "stood their ground".

In this particular part of the story, the young men are going to be put into a fiery furnance as they didn't bow to the golden image created by King Nebuchadnezzar.  In fact, it was others that were jealous of the three youth that reported this to the King.

He had no choice but to "cast them into the fiery furnance' and to go even one more step further; " And who is the god who will deliver youout of my hands?" ( Daniel 3:15(. .  But I like this part of the Scripture in Daniel 3:16 - 18, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.  If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of you hand, O king.  But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up." 

Defintion of "if" relates or introduces a condition that implies "in the event", "on the condition" or "assuming that". Daniel is telling us "if" that is so ..... But I believe he is truly saying we are fine with whatever way God wants to go.  Live or die, we follow God and not others.

Sometimes we pray, Lord if you will do (fill in the blank).  We sorta bargain with Him.  Or maybe its just me. We all (including me) need to believe that God's way is the best even in what we think are the worst times of our lives. 

Tell what your "if" has been in your prayers or walk with God.  Remember all of us do it.  Most of the time it is to save the life of a loved one while we are on the way to the hospital or at the hospital. I am guility of this before my walk with the Lord and even a time or two in my walk with the Lord.

Thankfully we are not perfect and God knows best.  Just don't worry about the "ifs" in your life. 

Just follow and listen and obey the Lord. The rewards are out of this world!!
