A knife can be a tool used by a surgeon to heal someone.
Or a weapon to harm someone.
Oxygen is important for us to live.
But too much oxygen is can actually be deadly.
A family that is very vocal during family dinner can be normal for some.
While a quiet and polite dinner time can be normal.
It just depends on your "perspective".
Perspective is a specific way of viewing, understanding, or judging situations, facts or ideas based on our personal experiences, viewpoint, outlook, stand point or point of view.
We can look at others and assume they are strong, rich or even the other end of the spectrum - hopeless.
Don't we hear that from others about ourselves. People use to tell me how lucky I was to be a single parent; because I wouldn't have to deal with all the arguments. I guess it depends on your perspective.
I heard this on the radio this morning, gas prices are so high and it is getting harder. But thankful I have a job to be able to buy gas. Where others would be thankful to have a vehicle or a job. Or no matter the issues at my job, I have a job so I can live in a home. Others would be happy to have warmth during the night. It's all about perspective.
Colossians 3:2 says, " Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God's right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth."
James 1: 2, " Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for joy."
We should be able to find joy in whatever situation you or I are in. We have a mighty God that is going to take care of us and He has a plan for our life. Maybe not as soon as we may want or as fast as we may want - but its all about our perspective.
Don't you think?
