I don't know about you but its hard waiting. I know as kids waiting for our birthday to come or Christmas or last day of school can be hard. I know people that mark off the calendar for important events. But in truth, who has a calendar on their wall anymore? Not many.
I have been in Jeremiah the last week or so, in particular Jeremiah 29. This phrase is said many times, " This is what the LORD of Heaven's Armies, the God of Israel, says .....and Jeremiah gives us the LORD's instructions. Verses 10 - 14 are one of my life verses.
In Verse 10, the LORD says, You will be in Babylon for 70 years. But then I will come and do all the good things I have promised, and I will bring you home again." 70 years?? That could be one or two generations before anything happens. Now I would like to say they said "ok"; we will wait. But they and we are only human and waiting is not one our strong beliefs.
There are several verses about God's timing - Ecclesiastes 3:1, Isaiah 60:22, Ecclesiastes 3:11 and Habakkuk 2:3. I am sure you can find more. A little known fact, the phrase, " God'stiming is perfect", is not really a verse. It is a theme that asures us that God acts at exactly the right moment.
So wait and see is my motto now. Hopefully I will be around and if not, I will see from heaven why He said to "wait".
Just Wait and See what God will do!
