July 17 & July 18th was the Mountains and Valleys to Finding Christ "stay " Retreat.  It was a time of worship, speakers testimonies and of course we served meals.  A "stay" retreat is one where you get to sleep in your own bed on Friday night and come back on Saturday.  We encouraged the ladies to invite others to their home and have a "sleep over".

Miss Audrey spoke on Friday night about the mountains and valleys in her life through her ministry and through her trips to Haiti as a missionary.  

Saturday was a lesson by Miss Lola in regards to different people (not just ladies) who were called to ministry personally by the Lord.  Showing us that God will use any talents that we may have if we just obey.  Pastor Cathy shared her Celebrate Recovery in regards to being a codependent.  

At the end of Saturday, we made "road signs" with words, Scripture and/or pictures that mean alot of us.  Some of the words were wait, detours, obey, surrender and praise the Lord.  The lady shared that no matter what she is going through, she needs to praise the Lord!

Each woman left with a Camping Survival Kit which included:

a compass - set your moral compass to follow Jesus

whistle - call for help when you are lost

mini flashlight - to follow God's light

trail mix - for when you hunger for the Lord

chaptstick - a reminder to let Praise and Gratitude pass through your lips

water - for when you thirst to hear from our Lord

mosquito repellant patch - to keep the Devil away

 

All in all, a great retreat and look forward to our next one.
